The Softest Snickerdoodles

Gram's good friend Charlie has a reputation in their town of holding community get-togethers and making really good food. She made this recipe one day and it definitely became a favorite. The secret to making them so soft is melting the butter, which Charlie does for all his cookie recipes. These also freeze really well and stay soft even when frozen.

This makes about 24 cookies

Ingredients:

2 3/4 cups flour

3 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 cup melted butter (make sure it's warm, not hot)

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

1) Melt butter and allow to cool to lukewarm. Mix in eggs and vanilla

2) Mix the dry ingredients separately. Add the butter mixture to the dry ingredients.

3) Roll dough into 1" balls and then into cinnamon-sugar mixture (3 T sugar + 1 T cinnamon)

4) Bake 350 F for 13-15 minutes
